Family, friends and more
I haven’t really had a thought to do a more positive type of post in sometime. With that in mind, I wanted to make sure to write about something that really hits home to me.
Family
While I have a lot of family near me; a lot of us haven’t taken the time to really get together in a number of years. While I want to change this; the struggles I have faced doesn’t really allow me to change this just yet. We recently had a small get together about my late uncle’s place, and we did get to have some good conversations and memories. While it wasn’t the most ideal place or situation to create these memories; it came to me, take advantage of any chance we have to create memories with the people we love. We just fell out of the habit of planning family events when everyone’s health took a turn for the worse. With that said, I hope that everyone in the family can feel the power of each person within the tree. While we might be physically alone, we are never alone. The spirits of our ancestors are with us. While a lot of people don’t believe in spirits/ghosts/etc, I believe that is something to the human body which makes it such a fascinating vessel.
From what I have researched, the family has been in the area for 4+ generations, and I would love to find a way to trace it back to our origins. It is fascinating knowing where you have came from, and there will be a lot of bumps in the road to overcome on this journey. I have started some ancestry searching, and I would like to be able to sit down with someone that knows a lot about the genealogy. This way I would have some milestones and/or names to figure out where they fit into things. After doing a lot of research on it, I found that there are many branches of the tree that can be crisscrossing in so many ways. Maybe eventually, I’ll have everything mapped out to give us a sense of history.
Friends
While family is ‘given’ to us; friends are often referred to as the family that we chose. I have several friends that are near and dear to me, and a lot of them we have had our problems in the past. There are some people that you can just meet back up with, and pick up right where they left off. Almost like there has been no time that has passed. I think of those people as a ‘soul friend’. I think that term describes the friendship more, due to the fact of how things work between two people. When I think about friends like that, Jason, almost always comes up. While a lot of people don’t really know who he is, and I’m not sure I know who he is now. I still have a hard time seeing him for who he is, and who he has become. It’s been interesting catching up with him, and learning who he is now. Anyways, once you grow up, you learn that friendships are important, and personally, I wish I knew more about it even more when I was younger.
